Because LSM’s aquatic invasive species programs focus on early detection and rapid response, new infestations are occasionally found. In the event of an aquatic invasive species infestation being confirmed, LSM alerts the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), who works with local stakeholders to develop an individualized management plan.
